Default Conj Nightmare + auspicious

I was looking at these two spells and thinking of a way in which they might be incorporated into a build for the purposes of energy management.

It looked promising but I think the problem lies in the residual layover time for auspicious to become usable again.

Just curious if any of you buildmeisters see anything that can be done with this.

Illusion spell:
Conjure Nightmare
Description: For 2-12 seconds, target foe suffers from -8 health degeneration .
Energy Cost: 25
Activation Time: 1 Second.
Recharge Time: 5 Seconds.

Inspiration spell:
Auspicious incantation
Description: For 20 seconds, the next spell you use is disabled for an additional 30 seconds, and you gain Energy equal to 110-182% of that spell's energy cost. The recharge for Auspiciuos Incantation is reset, and it has an additional recharge time equal to that spell's energy cost.
Energy Cost: 5
Activation Time: 1 Second.
Recharge Time: 25 Seconds.

Basically it looks like two slots to generate an extra 48 energy every 50 seconds. Keep in mind there are no elites used yet.

Maybe you could make a gimped ranger mesmer and use the oath shot elite to get stuff rolling every 20 secs.

It seems that it would be near 48 energy every 35-40 seconds (approximately). Used with Mantra of persistance this seems like great energy management as well as a non-elite replacement for Life Transfer for life degeners in the arenas (of course it is minus the health regen which can be life saving in many moments). I myself was thinking about using it with Recurring Insecurity since that can be renewed by adding another hex to it, thus i could keep that going while regaining energy, but the energy regain was too low and this seems like a far better idea.

Ah..yes, it would be almost wasteful to not have mantra of persistance.

Do you think mantra of recovery would help with the recharge times? Sounds like it would be buggy.

Mantra of Recovery
Description: For 5-17 seconds, spells you cast recharge 50% faster. This is an elite skill.
Energy Cost: 10
Activation Time: None.
Recharge Time: 30 Seconds.
Linked Attribute: Fast Casting. Increases duration.
Skill Type: Stance.

Do the spell cast DURING the 5-17 seconds recharge 50% fasster. Or do said spells only recharge at the 50% rate through the duration of MoR? Ponders... nah I think Auspicious gets reset at the casting of Nightmare thus overiding MoR. If it worked though that would cut your recharge on auspicious to 25.

You would throw this combo when low on energy.
MoR
Mantra of persistance
Auspicious
Conj Nightmare

Then you would have to have ether feast for health and a res sig.
Then you really have not much room for defense or other spells to use that energy.....

As always, I am completely confused by Auspicious Incantation and it's actual worth. I guess I need to make a few builds using it and test it on dummies to see how it supposedly works. But for my part, I am completely unimpressed.

Auspisious incantation is basically used to give csaters with very high energy counts (my mesmer has 54 with +4 regen actually). I personally think it was added to be used with elementalists who used skills with high energy costs (like maelstrom, which on a side note is quite useful with water trident and deep freeze to keep the enemies inside) to be able to regain mass amounts of energy without the use of dual attuneaments ( 25 x 30%=7.5 energy. 25 50%= 12.5 so only high re-wielding of energy is dual attuneaments, since 12.5+7.5=20)

Mantra of Recovery would make Aspicious recharge faster but that doesn't change the 30s disable of Conjure Nightmare.

I think this would be great for a Crippling anguish flag runner. It does allow you to use an offensive elite.

It doesn't give much more energy than anything else. 48 energy every 30 seconds but you spend 30 energy to get it. That's not bad for a non-elite e management but not overly impressive either. Main thing is freeing up your elite spot.

I stand by the fact that Aspicious can be used with Arcane Echo to void the recharge loss and gain energy while doing so...save using an actually decent spell as well. With the echo in place you could do something silly like echo energy drain etc. etc.

Conjure nightmare gets trashed yet again ='( really wish I could find a good use for it.
